Grocery shopping isn’t a chore if you go to the right place! An abundance of specialty foods, fruits and veggies galore, and delicious one-of-a-kind baked goods, these are just a few of the things I love at my local markets.
Marukai Pacific Market -MamMoth Bakery
Liberally soaked with delicious, floral honey, the melt in your mouth, buttery goodness of MamMoth Bakery’s honey butter toast is a must try. Located inside the Marukai Pacific Market in Gardena, MamMoth Bakery bakes some of the best Japanese style pastry and desserts around. You can even buy loaves of their soft and chewy bread to make your own version of honey butter toast at home!
While you’re here, you might as well take the opportunity to stop by Shinsengumi’s mini Ramen and Kushiyaki stalls located in the same food court. I guarantee it’ll be some of the best ramen you’ll ever have.

Marina Farms
Specializing in fresh produce, Marina Farms is an awesome independent market on Centinela. Tons more variety and cheaper than your local Ralphs or Pavilions, and with many samples available to test so you can make sure your fruits and veggies are at their peak of deliciousness! It’s like a farmers market, but indoors and with shopping carts. For around $8 I left with a few white peaches, some juicy vine ripened tomatoes, two mangoes, oranges, and a perfectly ripened cantaloupe. Check out the little deli next door “Go Veggie” for some fresh fruit smoothies, sandwiches, and salads.
Marina Farms: 5454 S Centinela Ave. Los Angeles 90066
Mitsuwa Marketplace
A great Japanese market in Mar Vista with an abundance of Japanese snacks, ingredients, and produce, along with a small deli section and one of the best food courts around. Where else can you find a SUSHI PARFAIT!
Mitsuwa Marketplace: 3760 S Centinela Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90066
